º£½ÇÆÆ½â°æ Appoints Provost Andrew Workman as Interim President
While search for next university president will continue as planned, º£½ÇÆÆ½â°æ Board of Trustees names Workman to serve as interim president

BRISTOL, R.I. – The º£½ÇÆÆ½â°æ Board of Trustees has chosen Provost Andrew Workman to serve as interim president, filling the vacancy created by the death of President Donald J. Farish on July 5.
Workman joined º£½ÇÆÆ½â°æ in July 2012 as provost and senior vice president of Academic Affairs. He has served as a key member of the senior administrative team, overseeing all academic affairs responsibilities for the University for the past six years.
Prior to º£½ÇÆÆ½â°æ, Workman served 19 years at Mills College in Oakland, Calif., in a number of roles, including full-time faculty member, dean of social sciences, and vice provost for academic affairs. He holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and social theory from New College of Florida, and both master’s and doctoral degrees in history from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
The search for º£½ÇÆÆ½â°æâ€™s next president will continue as planned, following the same schedule that was anticipated when President Farish announced his plans to retire.
